Job Description:
The Curative Agent position searches and analyzes title reports, title commitments, and public records in order to identify, analyze and help cure defects in title and generally de-risk energy projects. Produce accurate, detailed reports summarizing results and/or recommendations.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Analyze title reports and title commitments to identify curative issues.
- Prepare reports and memorandums as necessary to explain curative requirements and recommendations.
- Prepare spreadsheets for tracking progress.
- Examines oil and gas leasehold interests.
- Perform heirship research on deceased owners, preparing reports, affidavits, and supporting documentation as needed.
- Conducts outreach to interest owners and other stakeholders to satisfy curative requirements.
- Accurately prepare curative documents.
- Provide quality research and reports based on client needs and criteria.

- Other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret maps.
- Ability to interpret complex documents to obtain and understand legal property descriptions.
- Basic familiarity with standard Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to create and use spreadsheets including multiple worksheets and intermediate functions such as totaling columns, changing formats, and entering/using basic formulas.
- Ability to type using a computer keyboard to enter information rapidly, accurately, and proficiently.
- Some positions may require lengthy travel and overnight commitments in order to complete projects.
- Proven to follow complex chains of title in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Reviews title and heirship work for accuracy.
- May involve client interaction.
- Read and write in English.
- Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers.
- Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions.
- Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Retrieve, read and interpret information from technical sources.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college is a plus.
- 2 years’ experience working in land or title is preferred.
