Western Land Services, Inc. ("WLS") is committed to making westernls.com usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. As an employee-owned company serving landowners, clients, and partners across 49 states, we want every visitor to be able to learn about our services, contact our team, and apply for careers without barriers.

We continually work to improve the user experience for all visitors and apply relevant accessibility standards as we update the site.

Conformance Status

WLS aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, speech, and cognitive disabilities.

Western Land Services' website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard. We are actively working to close those gaps.

Measures We Take

WLS supports accessibility through the following practices:

  • Including accessibility as part of our website design, content, and maintenance process.
  • Reviewing new and updated pages for accessibility before they are published.
  • Providing ongoing guidance to staff who create or edit website content.

Accessibility Features

The site currently includes these features:

  • A "Skip to Content" link at the top of each page so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the main navigation.
  • Descriptive alternative text on informative images, such as photographs and our office locations map.
  • A consistent heading structure and navigation menu across pages.
  • A responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and desktop screens and supports browser zoom.
  • Clickable phone numbers so visitors on mobile devices can call our offices directly.
  • Text-based office addresses and phone numbers on the Contact Us page, in addition to the visual map.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known issues include:

  • Testimonial carousel: The rotating testimonials on the home page may be difficult to pause or navigate for some keyboard and screen reader users. We are working to add clearer controls and labels.
  • Contact and quote forms: Some form fields and error messages may not be announced clearly by all screen readers. If you have trouble, please call us at (800) 968-4840 and we will take your request by phone.
  • Documents and PDFs: Older downloadable documents may not be fully tagged for accessibility. Accessible versions are available on request.
  • Third-party content: Some features are provided by outside vendors and are not fully under our control. These include Google reCAPTCHA on our forms, embedded job applications, the client sign-in portal, LinkedIn links, and the underlying Odoo website platform. We encourage these providers to meet accessibility standards and will offer alternatives where we can.

Technical Specifications

The accessibility of westernls.com relies on the following technologies working with your web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. The site is built on the Odoo website platform.

The site is designed to be compatible with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari) and common assistive technologies, including the NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver screen readers and built-in browser zoom.
