Greg Stovall
Greg is a co-founding & managing partner of Tierra Fenix Land Services. Greg has spent his entire career in the Oil & gas profession, starting as a field landman in 1983 while attending college. Greg learned the trade the old-fashioned way of standing at the clerk tables by pulling the books and chaining title in the Permian Basin and in New Mexico.
Greg would later be tapped as head of the land department for R.L. Bolin out of Wichita Falls. While there, he oversaw all the title work, drilling, and well discovery in the Lonesome Dove field of Concho County, as well as Caddo County, Oklahoma. Greg’s leadership would prove highly successful while spending nearly a year and a half testifying on behalf of Bolin on forced pooling hearings and take or pay contract disputes for their production with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
Greg followed that up by taking on the role of president at Caddo Management Company and working closely with Lonny Morrison, the former president of the Texas State Bar, who owned Caddo. Greg’s hard work and experience helped him lead Caddo Management in their efforts to successfully research and identify new potential in assets for acquisition.
As a veteran in the land services industry, Greg would then partner with the start of Tracker Services and take charge of all day-to-day operations, client relations, project management, and strategy. While there, Tracker became one of the premier acquisition due diligence teams in the industry, closing over $14 billion in transactions. During his time at Tracker, he partnered with international law firms to perform due diligence on assets not only in Texas but also in overseas markets, including Asia.
