Job Description:
The Land Agent Trainee will join Western Land Services and immediately begin work on building out a foundational skillset in the Land & Energy industry. Through mentorship and experiential learning, you will be prepared to enter into the field to assist in WLS' acquisition efforts across various ongoing projects.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for securing property rights for land being sought for development.

Make independent decisions within established parameters on how best to
approach landowners and proceed with contract negotiation.

Meet with landowners either at his/her property or another agreed upon
location.

Establish trust and rapport with landowners to facilitate negotiations
and a positive working relationship.
- Obtain licensing and permits, if required.
- Explain project to landowners including expectations, procedures, timing, and financial arrangements.
- Provide reports to Project Managers and clients regarding the status of negotiations and the details of executed contracts.
- Prepare contracts and other necessary documents related to the transaction.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet project deadlines.

Ability to gain the trust of clients and landowners to facilitate the
lease negotiation process.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Significant travel may be required and work outside normal work hours may be required to reach and meet with landowners.

Ability to travel to landowner residences or other agreed upon meeting locations.
Required Education & Experience:
- 1-2 years of prior experience in a sales-related or people-focused role preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Professional certification a plus.
